History

Foti Rigopoulos (Frank) was born in Kalamata on the southern tip of Greece. (Kalamata is the number one olive oil region in Greece.)

When Frankie turned 17 years old, he came to Ellis Island, America. The boat ride to America lasted three weeks.

The year was 1954 and Frankie started work as a dish washer in his uncle's Chicago restaurant.

As he earned money from this job, he would save it and send it back to his family in Greece. Eventually, his family was able to join him in America.

Frank soon opened his own restaurant in Dekalb, Illinois. It was called Sea Breeze.

Frankie moved to Galena in 1975 and purchased the Log Cabin.

He has two sons, Dino and Sam. They are both named after their grandfathers.
